“Woodworkers of Midcoast Maine” presents furniture, carving, sculpture, and turned objects by 19 accomplished makers hailing from Bath to Orland, and from as far inland as Burnham.

The work was selected by guest curator Deborah Weisgall, author and arts writer for the New York Times, who is a summer resident of Rockport. Her given criteria were, “excellence in design and craftsmanship and/or imagination.”

“The first “Woodworkers of Midcoast Maine” exhibition two years ago drew visitors in record numbers,” says Peter Korn, Executive Director of the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship, where the Messler Gallery is located. “We hope the show will continue to strengthen public awareness of the burgeoning crafts community we have in the Midcoast region.”
