Visiting Artists

The Visiting Artists program brings highly accomplished, professional woodworkers on campus to investigate new directions in their work. Visiting Artists share the Jackson Building with emerging makers in the Fellowship program, for whom they serve as informal mentors. In addition, they catalyze creative interchange on campus through lectures, critiques, and informal interaction with students and instructors.

Visiting Artists are selected by invitation, and inquiries are welcome.

Previous Visiting Artists include: Peter Fleming (Toronto, Ontario), David Haig (Nelson, New Zealand), Thomas Hucker (Jersey City, NJ), Beth Ireland (St, Petersburg, FL), Tom Kealy (Somerset, UK), Michael Puryear (Shokan, NY), Chris Pye (Hereford, UK), and David Upfill-Brown (Gerringong, Australia).

Visiting artists for 2023 will include Annie Evelyn (Bakersville, NC), David Haig (Nelson, New Zealand), Thomas Hucker (Jersey City, NJ), and Yuri Kobayashi (Thomaston, ME).
