Adrian Ferrazzutti
September 13-24
Participants learn to work competently with veneer by making exquisite, patterned boxes. Adrian teaches students how to re-saw veneer from solid timber, combine contrasting species to create custom veneer, and design striking geometric patterns. Boxes are made with plywood substrates, and participants learn effective methods for cutting and fitting precise rabbet joints and accurately assembling boxes in stages. Other techniques covered include application of hardwood edging to protect fragile corners, installation of quadrant hinges and lock sets, and crafting custom brass keyholes. The curriculum closely follows Adrian’s Fine Woodworking video, “Veneered Boxes with a Twist.”
