This exhibition presents a spectrum of aesthetics in contemporary woodworking, from an Arts & Crafts-inspired desk by Maine furniture maker Kevin Rodel, to a two-foot long sculpture of a snail by British master carver Chris Pye. The diversity of work reflects the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship’s teaching philosophy, which is to encourage each student to find his or her own creative voice.
“It is a privilege to be able to showcase so many influential furniture makers and wood artists,” says Peter Korn, the Center’s Executive Director.
