June 14 – September 11, 2013

“New Work by Faculty,” an exhibition of fine furniture, turned objects, carving, and fine art opened for the summer on Friday, June 14th at the Messler Gallery of the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship in Rockport. The exhibition runs through September 11th, 2013.

The show features a breathtaking array of aesthetic expression from twenty-eight woodworkers and artists who are international leaders in their fields. The spectrum of work includes Asian-inspired furniture by Brian Reid and Kevin Rodel, intimate, African-influenced vessels by Jennifer Shirley, a biomorphic table by David Upfill-Brown, and an exquisite study by realist painter Linden Frederick.

“I’m so pleased that this exhibition coincides with our 20th Anniversary,” comments Gallery Manager Victoria Allport. “The work is a beautiful reflection of elements that have shaped our school: creative insight, aesthetic innovation, dedication to excellence, and consummate finesse.”
