“DC Current,” which showcases woodworkers from the renowned Smithsonian Craft Show, opened at the Messler Gallery of the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship in Rockport on Friday, September 23, 2016.
“Bringing the best of the Smithsonian to Midcoast Maine is a great way to show our career-track students and statewide community what contemporary makers are selling at the top of their game,” says Center director Peter Korn.
Widely regarded as the nation’s premier juried show of fine American crafts, the Smithsonian Craft Show presents the work of 120 leading craft artists in a wide variety of media. Each year’s jury is a new panel of experts who bring fresh perspectives to the selection of exhibitors.
