Celebrating the Studio Fellowship (2009)
February 20 - April 17, 2009
Adventurous and accomplished work from former and current participants in the Studio Fellowship Program.
The Studio Fellowship program is an incubator for emerging furniture makers and wood artists. Six Studio Fellows at a time share workshop space in the Center’s Jackson Building. Individual terms range from a month to a year.
Fellows receive the benefits of free studio space and access to faculty, visiting artists, the Messler Gallery, the Fine Woodworking Library, and, most importantly, each other. In this supportive environment they are challenged to experiment with new techniques and to explore new designs.
Since the opening of the Jackson Building in 2004, more than forty emerging professional and established woodworkers have benefited from this opportunity. “Celebrating the Studio Fellowship" is an annual exhibition open to work made during or subsequent to their Fellowships.
