The Messler Gallery is closed for the spring and summer as part of the Center’s overall response plan for the coronavirus pandemic.
It reopens on September 18 with a new show: Out of Bounds: The Art of Croquet.
The mission of the Messler Gallery is to advance design and craftsmanship in wood as a vibrant medium of expression. As an educational forum, the gallery enables students and the public to view work by faculty and other accomplished woodworkers firsthand; it hosts public lectures by instructors and visiting artists; and it offers exhibition experience to students and Studio Fellows.
As the only venue in Maine dedicated to the year-round exhibition of studio furniture and wood art, the Messler Gallery provides much-needed exposure for regional furniture makers, turners, and carvers.
The Messler Gallery also serves a national audience through juried competitions, invitational exhibitions, and traveling shows.
We invite you to visit the Messler Gallery Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm, and Saturdays from 10am-4pm.
