Jason Hernandez earned his BFA in painting from Massachusetts College of Art and Design. After years of professional mural and sign work, he took his first metal working class at New York’s School of Visual Arts. The introduction of form and function to his artistic vision proved to be where his real interest lied. In 2015 he established HENDO, a furniture design and fabrication studio which allowed him to combine his roots in visual arts with metal and woodworking techniques. To further enrich his craft, he attended CFC and completed the twelve-week Furniture Intensive. For several years he worked out of a collective shop in Brooklyn, where he was able to continue to share ideas and expand his knowledge of different techniques through working with other makers. Jason is a self-employed custom furniture maker currently working out of his own shop in Beacon, NY.
