Dear CFC Community:

The Center for Furniture Craftsmanship’s Founder and Executive Director, Peter Korn, will retire at the end of 2021. The Board of Directors is searching for a successor who will embrace the history and mission of the School, while implementing new initiatives to expand its effectiveness in meeting the educational needs of contemporary designer/woodworkers. The Board has formed a Search Committee, chaired by Vice President Mark Tresnowski, to undertake the search process. If you know of potential candidates or are interested in applying yourself, please contact us at Search@woodschool.org.

Peter’s long-planned decision to turn the school over to new leadership is taking effect at a time when CFC has just completed a $6.1 million endowment campaign to leverage the tremendous accomplishments of its first three decades for greater societal impact. We are deeply grateful for Peter’s vision, guidance, and profound commitment to teaching design and craftsmanship at the highest standard of excellence.

The Center for Furniture Craftsmanship is well positioned for the future, with an exceptionally strong foundation in place: a global reputation for excellence, a dedicated full-time staff, an outstanding international faculty of accomplished designer/woodworkers, enthusiastic students and committed alumni, a devoted and active nationwide Board of Directors, and a sound financial position. We will continue to build on our strengths and traditions.

Kind regards,
David Ingram
President, Board of Directors, Center for Furniture Craftsmanship
