Many woodworkers have strong opinions about the role of computer aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) as it relates to craft. Where some see an essential step toward progress, others feel a threat to the importance of working by hand. Here at the school, we are all about merging creativity with technical skill, and we want to give our students as many tools as possible to achieve that balance.

Of course, these new technologies evolve at a rapid pace, and staying up to date can prove to be a challenge. Lucky for us, Assistant Facilities Manager Mark Juliana is a tech wizard and a fantastic teacher, too. He has been generous enough to dedicate some time to teaching a few faculty and staff members the new Fusion 360 software, which, in turn, will give our students even more resources to utilize in their courses.
